generosity
At Goodwin Investment Advisory, generosity isn’t just a word, it’s a core value woven into every part of who we are. From the trusted guidance we provide clients to the way our founder and CEO, Tim Goodwin, encourages our team to give back, generosity is part of our DNA.

Our commitment to giving back

We believe that investment goes beyond financial growth and extends to empowering people and communities. That’s why our company matches up to $500 of each employee’s personal donation, doubling the impact of individual giving. This unique benefit not only encourages philanthropy but also demonstrates how deeply generosity is valued here at Goodwin.
But we don’t stop there. As a firm, we invest 2% of our revenue by actively partnering with local and global nonprofit organizations whose missions align with ours, driven by compassion, integrity, and the desire to create meaningful change.

Spotlight: organizations we’re proud to support

African Girls Hope Foundation

With the mission to “Fund an education, Fund a life,” the African Girls Hope Foundation provides refugee and orphaned girls in Sub‑Saharan Africa with quality high school scholarships and holistic support. Through scholarships, mentorship, supplies, and even micro‑finance programs for caregivers, AGHF nurtures hope, resilience, and dreams of a brighter future.

Cherokee Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)

Driven by the vision “to see Cherokee County transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes,” FCA inspires coaches and athletes to grow in their relationship with Christ and lead with integrity, service, teamwork, and excellence. Their work builds character and faith across our local youth sports communities.

Woodstock Arts

Woodstock Arts brings vibrant performing and visual arts experiences to North Georgia. Since 2002, they’ve engaged our community with world‑class theatre, music (like their Lantern Series), visual arts exhibits, educational programs, and creative camps that unite and inspire people of all ages.

Why generosity matters to us

Local impact: Supporting Cherokee FCA and Woodstock Arts allows us to invest in our home community—fostering faith, leadership, creativity, and togetherness right where we live and work.

Global reach: Supporting the African Girls Hope Foundation extends our care across borders, offering education and opportunity to girls who might otherwise go without. It reflects our belief that every person deserves the chance to thrive.

Personal touch: Goodwin Investment Advisory’s match program encourages us to give from our hearts, knowing our generosity is amplified. It’s a powerful culture: employees aren’t just donors—they’re part of a team committed to meaningful change.

The heart and soul of Goodwin Investment Advisory is that we try to be good stewards of all that we have been given, whether that is our unique gifts and talents, how we each bring our unique abilities together to create a team that guides our clients, or how we steward our own personal and company money with the utmost care and honor. Giving back is at the heart and core of GIA.

Generosity at Goodwin Investment Advisory isn’t just policy, it’s personal. It’s the gratitude in our hearts, the conscious choices we make as individuals, and the shared vision of our firm to positively influence lives—locally and globally. Through our corporate partnerships and matching program, we’re investing not just in markets, but in humanity.

We’re proud of the difference we’re making, and even more excited about the ripple effects to come. If you would like to consider being more generous and intentional with your wealth, please talk to us about how we can help guide you in this area that is close to our heart and yours!
