Unique ability:
Mandy can step into almost any process or system, quickly understand how it’s built, and immediately spot opportunities to improve it. She has a gift for streamlining workflows, organizing moving parts, and making small, smart tweaks that help everything flow more efficiently (working smarter, not harder). At Goodwin Investment Advisory, she brings this strength to life as Tim’s Executive Assistant by building best practices for calendars, workflows, and operations from A–Z, while also supporting the marketing team with podcast production, workflow tracking, and stepping in wherever needed to help with graphics, social media, events, or behind-the-scenes execution. She’s a true “Jackie of all trades” in the best way. Mandy is a deep thinker who loves getting in the weeds and making things work better.
Background:
Before joining GIA, Mandy built a career supporting leaders and teams in a variety of roles. She worked as an Executive Assistant to two Vice Presidents in the men’s buying office at Rich’s Department Stores, served as an assistant to the Director of HR at Rich’s, and later became an Office Manager and Lead Trainer at Ethan Allen Furniture. She also served as an Executive Assistant at a Montessori school, bringing structure, care, and calm to every environment she’s in. Mandy studied marketing and design at Johnson & Wales and completed additional education through The American College in Marketing and Fashion Design.
Mandy lives in Dahlonega on a small homestead with chickens and ducks, where she tends her garden and delights in farm-to-table cooking. Cooking is one of her great loves, right alongside traveling, whether that means gathering around a table with new friends, tasting unforgettable food, or soaking in beautiful landscapes that linger in her heart. Her most recent adventure took her to Sicily, where her love for food, place, and connection felt especially alive.
At the heart of Mandy’s life is a deep belief in the power of meaningful, authentic friendships. She values spaces where women feel safe to trust one another with their hearts, share honestly, and walk together through both joy and pain. Mandy feels especially called to support women with trauma backgrounds, offering steady presence, compassion, and hope. She is currently pursuing her Door of Hope peer certification so she can walk alongside women navigating the pain of betrayal and separation with care and understanding.
Mandy is a proud mom of three amazing adult children and has a beautiful daughter-in-law.
What attracted her to Goodwin Investment Advisory?
Mandy first connected with GIA through a video featuring Tim Goodwin, CFP®, and she immediately felt a sense of alignment, especially when she heard Tim talking about his farm life (goats, ducks, and chickens). It immediately felt like shared values and common ground. She also loved the idea of supporting a growing firm where Tim didn’t yet have administrative support, which to Mandy was an exciting blank slate to build systems, structure, and momentum. The culture, the mission, and the tight-knit team environment made it feel like a true match.
She would love to have coffee with:
Lysa TerKeurst. Mandy connects deeply with Lysa’s writing through Proverbs 31, and her books have felt like sitting down with a friend who truly understood what Mandy was walking through during difficult seasons.
What she is most proud of:
The strength God has given her to walk through incredibly hard circumstances, refusing to become a victim of them, but instead an overcomer. By God’s grace, she’s still standing and refuses to give up, believing purpose is born out of pain.
The best piece of advice she has ever received:
As someone who naturally wants to “do” and push forward, Mandy’s counselor encouraged her to memorize Exodus 14:14: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (ESV) It became a grounding reminder that she didn’t have to carry every battle alone.
If Mandy could share one lesson with the world, it would be:
Share your story. When we choose vulnerability, we create connections. There is profound humanity in speaking honestly about what we’ve lived through. Our stories remind others they are not alone — and in ways we could never plan, they often become a blessing far beyond ourselves
