Unique ability – Coby brings together leadership, discipline, and a strong commitment to helping others. Guided by his principles, he finds fulfillment in meaningful work and making a difference in the lives of those around him.
Coby is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional who brings the leadership and strategic thinking he developed in the Army to his work at Goodwin Investment Advisory. He grew up in Pennsylvania and earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Shippensburg University before joining the Army, where he served as a Captain and Ranger Instructor.
When transitioning from military service to financial planning, Coby wanted to continue doing work with purpose. Helping people navigate financial decisions and work toward their goals felt like a natural next step. Earning his CFP® certification marks another milestone in his commitment to serving clients.
“I love the idea of working with people and helping them achieve their goals. To potentially be a voice of hope in their financial life and a steady hand in a place of uncertainty. A lot of people could benefit from a financial coach and mentor, and I want to help provide them with a path to financial peace.”

For Coby, meaningful work means helping people and making a difference in his community and God’s kingdom. He believes in bringing his best to everything he does because the people he serves deserve his full effort and care.
Coby lives with his wife, Halle, in Canton, GA, where they are putting down roots and looking forward to starting a family. Outside of work, you’ll often find him training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, grabbing a workout, or spending time outdoors hunting. He also enjoys woodworking and carpentry, with a handmade bar, coffee table, benches, and dining room table among his completed projects. Coby and Halle enjoy exploring local restaurants together whenever they get the chance.
What he is most proud of – His military career and successfully completing Ranger School. The grueling, 84-day journey included repeating a phase, which gave him the opportunity to master the material and excel through the rest of the course. Challenges such as hiking 20 kilometers through the mountains with a 115-pound pack taught him perseverance, endurance, and inner strength. Those lessons continue to shape his approach to life and work.
If he could share one message with the world, it would be – “Whatever you’re working at, just don’t quit. Don’t give up. If you stop, you can never achieve what you’re trying to accomplish.”
One lesson he keeps relearning – “You don’t know as much as you think you know…”
